return of the big freeze

Since Thursday temperatures have dropped and we have had more snow. Already this feels like a long winter, and its not yet the end of December. I wonder how some people can enjoy snow, it only gets me down. I haven’t cycled to work for weeks, and that is bad for my joie de vivre!

My poor chickens are as fed up as I am, they spend their days in the greenhouse, because it is the only place that isnt deep in snow. Their nights must be cold indeed, I have even found frozen eggs in the roost.
